Find Your Own "Baseball"

Baseball’s been a part of my life since I was a little boy. When I was 3 or 4 my grandfather promised to take me to my first baseball game when I was a little older. When we studied electrical circuits in elementary school I built a board listing all the major league. When you touched the correct team and its correct league with conductive wands, a light went on. And the first thing I did when my family moved, when I was 11, was find the local little league.

Today, baseball is more than a game for me. I don’t mean that in the sense that if the Dodgers lose I can’t eat, or that I have to arrange my schedule to catch every game. I mean that in the sense that it is really good for us to find things that are fun, recreational, and that break us out of the workaday world that can so often be all consuming.

In my new video, “Baseball,” I talk about the power and energy we experience from the things we do for our own enjoyment. I talk about how the game helps me feel freedom, creativity, and possibility. Those feelings then unlock for me new possibilities and new potential in whatever I am doing. I can then connect with an understanding of life bigger than myself.

We all need these opportunities. Baseball does it for me. What does it for you?
